May 2010: Mrs. Mavers has been appointed the school's new Principal Teacher and will take her place as part of Barsail's Senior Management Team.

October 2009: After spending the last few years as Acting Depute Head and Acting Head, Mr.Cundy was appointed as Barsail's full time Depute Head to replace Mrs.Maude who retired in February 2009.

March 2009: Mrs.Ferguson has been appointed as the new Head Teacher of Barsail Primary School. Mr.Cundy will now be Acting Depute Head until the post has been filled.

March 2009: GLOW - Children from Primary 4-7 have been gaining experience in using Scotland's unique intranet for children. They have been having online discussions about topics. They have also been using Glow for topic research, educational games and e-mails. Children have recently started using the online news service and a Primary 6 girl has had her first news report published online. The school plans to make use of a free web-cam so that children can link up with other schools!

March 2009: The Eco Group have been collecting clothes for Save the Children. They would like to thank parents and children who donated clothes. Thanks also to Mrs.Martin, Miss.Fitzgerald and Miss.Blair for backing up the Eco Group. The Eco Group has also bought new things with the "Let's Grow" vouchers such as: Weather Watchers; watering cans, seeds and lots more. Thank you for bringing in the vouchers.

January 2009: Mr.Cundy has been appointed Acting Head Teacher until March.

August 2008: Mrs.Strang has announced that she will be retiring at Christmas 2008. Mr.Strang has been the head teacher at Barsail for over 16 years and she will be greatly missed.

October 2008: The primary 7 Monitors are going to be organising a shoebox appeal in November. More details to follow....
